A filler treatment process enhances the fixation of anionic latex on filler in a short time. Anionic polymer dispersions (latex) are added to papermaking filler slurries at ambient temperature and then mixed with water of temperature higher than the glass transition temperature (Tg) of the latex used. The anionic latexes applied by this process are totally and irreversibly fixed or bound onto the filler particles and the treated filler particle agglomerate to form an aggregated filler slurry which is stable over time. The latex-treated filler slurry can be added to papermaking furnishes at any point prior to the headbox of the paper machine or stored for later use. The latex-treated filler slurry improves filler retention, only slightly reduces sheet strength and improves sizing performance.

[Problems] Addition of an organic acid such as a dicarboxylic acid to a soldering flux in order to improve wettability causes a reaction with copper oxide to form a metallic soap of copper having a green color. Although this metallic soap of copper is not corrosive and does not decrease reliability, its external appearance is impossible to distinguish it from verdigris which is indicative of corrosion. There is need for a soldering flux which does not form a metallic soap of copper.[Means for Solving the Problems] Addition of a tetrazole or a tetrazole derivative to a soldering flux can prevent carboxyl groups from reacting exclusively with copper ions, thereby suppressing the formation of a metallic soap of copper having a green color. Among tetrazoles and tetrazole derivatives, 5-phenyl-1H-tetrazole and its derivatives which have hydrogen as a substituent in the 1-position and a phenyl, group which strongly attracts electron in the 5-position are effective at improving soldering since they result in an increased polarity in the solvent.

During the conventional temperature swing adsorption (TSA) process, NF3 co-adsorbed with the impurities is vented during regeneration. This invention is a novel TSA cycle in which the co-adsorbed NF3 is recovered. In this novel TSA cycle, a control scheme is used to stop the adsorption prior to the saturation of the adsorber with impurities and use a recovery purge gas (either co-current or counter-current) to release the co-adsorbed NF3 off the saturated adsorber. The effluent of the inert purge gas can be combined with the effluent of the on-stream vessel or can be recycled to the feed of the on-stream vessel. 10%-100% of the co-adsorbed NF3 is recovered and made available as product in this novel TSA cycle. Thus the overall process yield of NF3 is increased. The removing of the co-adsorbed NF3 from the adsorber also prevents adsorber degradation thus prolonging the useful life of the adsorber.

An anchorage in tissue is produced by holding a vibrating element and a counter element against each other such that their contact faces are in contact with each other, wherein at least one of the contact faces comprises a thermoplastic material which is liquefiable by mechanical vibration. While holding and then moving the two elements against each other, the vibrating element is vibrated and due to the vibration the thermoplastic material is liquefied between the contract faces, and due to the relative movement is made to flow from between the contact faces and to penetrate tissue located adjacent to outer edges of the contact faces. An aero-assisted pre-stage (10) with a commensurably large wing area having a short-burn rocket propulsion system providing sufficient thrust is used to launch a variety of single-stage and multiple-stage space vehicles (20), such as conventional ballistic rockets and prospective spaceplanes, from conventional runways. This method of launch eliminates the need for dedicated ground launch structures and/or dedicated long runways. The vehicle to be launched (20) is mated to this aero-assisted pre-stage (AP) (10), with their flight directions aligned, using a lock-and-release mechanism (30). The resulting stack takes off like a conventional airplane using the propulsion and aerodynamic lift of the AP. After the desired trajectory of the vehicle is achieved and propulsion system of the AP is shut down, the vehicle is separated from the AP, the propulsion system of the vehicle is ignited, and the vehicle continues its ascent. The AP returns back to the surface for reuse or disposal. Thus, a wide variety of conventional airfields can be used for launch of ballistic and aero-assisted flight vehicles, without any payload mass penalties.

The overcap, in one form, engages an exterior of the container around the rim and along an inwardly directed flange which defines an opening of the container. The overcap snappingly engages with the container to produce an audible indication that the overcap is firmly attached to the container and that air is being expelled from inside the container. In another form, the overcap includes an invertible dome which is transformable between an upward convex position and an upward concave position.

A beverage container closure or lid that is adapted for closing an open end of a beverage container. The lid is selectively couplable to the beverage container and includes a selectively openable stopper that when closed, creates a fluid-tight seal between the beverage container and the environment. The stopper may be selectively opened by a user when the user presses a button disposed on a side of the beverage container closure. The stopper is subsequently automatically closed when the user releases the button. Thus, a user may open and close the beverage container closure using a single hand without the need to remove the beverage container closure from the beverage container.

A cap is described for closing a liquid beverage container for allowing the beverage to be sucked out of the container through a spout, while preventing spillage when no suction takes place. A demand valve is incorporated into the cap, which has an inlet port communicating with the interior of the container, a discharge port communicating with the spout and a control port communicating with the ambient atmosphere through a hole in the cap. The valve has a valve seat and a closure element controlling the flow from the inlet port to the discharge port urged to move into an opening position in dependence on the excess of the control pressures over that in the discharge ports, this movement being in the direction opposed to the flow and urged by the pressure in the container in a direction to seal against the valve seat. In the invention, the demand valve is formed by two members that are mounted on the inner surface of the cap. The first member is rigid and defines the valve inlet port and the valve seat. The second member incorporates the valve closure element and a resilient membrane which includes the valve closure element and serves as a pressure sensitive diaphragm. The second member also seals against the first member, around the hole in the cap and around the spout.

When a vehicle stops in a driving range such as a D-range at low oil temperature such as the initial stage of starting the engine, air-mixed operating oil may be supplied from the second oil passage into the torque converter. In this case, at the release of the lockup clutch in which the second line oil pressure is supplied from the second oil passage to the lockup clutch, the third oil passage is shut off (blocked) to inhibit the discharge of the operating oil. Therefore, regardless of larger pipe passage resistance due to higher viscosity, the operating oil in the torque converter is certainly discharged from the first oil passage through the cooler oil passage to the oil cooler and bubbles in the torque converter is reduced in association of the discharge of the operating oil.

In a vehicle (1) including a frame (2) incorporated with a drive unit (3) for enabling the frame to travel in a prescribed direction and a seat assembly (4) supported by the frame and including a pair of saddle members (63) defining a pair of seat surfaces (70A), respectively, configured to jointly support buttocks of a vehicle occupant, the saddle members are resiliently supported by the frame in such a manner that the seat surface of each saddle member is in an approximately horizontal orientation but is progressively tilted inward with a downward movement of the saddle member under a load of a vehicle occupant. Thus, one of the saddle members receiving a greater load than the other tilts downward toward the center of the vehicle, and this causes the vehicle occupant to be urged toward the saddle member receiving a smaller load so that the vehicle occupant is automatically urged toward the center of the vehicle, and hence the gravitational center of the vehicle occupant may be placed in the center of the vehicle at all times.
