A method of ocular testing is provided using a testing apparatus having a display (2) and a control means (6, 17) for controlling movement of a cursor (7). The method comprises providing a fixation target (T), detecting when an observer (1) moves the cursor (7) over the fixation target, and once the cursor has been moved over, providing a new target on the display (2). The observer (1) is then encouraged to move the cursor (7) over the new target, this then becoming the fixation target. If the observer (1) does not move the cursor (7) over the new target, it is determined that the new target falls outside the observer's visual field. The above is then repeated to build up a visual field of the observer (1) based on the detected and undetected target positions.

According to one aspect, the detailed technology concerns assessment of the fraud risk presented by an applicant for a driver's license, based on a particular ensemble of information presented by the applicant. For example, certain collateral identification documents presented by the applicant (birth certificate, passport, student body ID card, etc.)—or certain combinations of documents—may be found to have relatively higher or lower historical incidences of fraud associated therewith. A process for producing a container comprising an outer container, an inner bag disposed therein and a pressure equalisation opening disposed in the outer container, and a container produced according to this process, is described, wherein a pre-moulding, comprising two coaxial tubes, is first produced by co-extrusion with the help of a blow mould and with an outwardly-projecting base seam being formed. The process forms a pressure equalisation opening in the outer container without endangering the integrity of the container, wherein a lower wastage rate and higher productivity are achieved. To do this, the base seam is partially cut off and a force which acts in the direction of the seam is introduced into the pre-moulding, which has a temperature of 40 degrees C. to 70 degrees C., which force breaks open and plastically deforms the base seam so that a pressure equalisation opening is formed in the base area.

The invention provides a means by which the attitude or orientation of a submerged object can be changed or altered using a fixed quantity of transferable ballast fluid which has a density less than that of the surrounding fluid in which the object is submerged. In one embodiment, the process utilizes a static negatively buoyant material (which could be a lead weight) to offset the net negative buoyancy of the transferable ballast fluid. In this way, the total overall buoyancy of the system does not change, but by transferring ballast fluid into expandable reservoirs which are physically separated from the static negatively buoyant material, the separation between the center of buoyancy and the center of mass of the object can be changed, and thus the attitude or orientation of the object, if it is unrestrained, may be changed.

Osmolarity measurement of a sample fluid, such as tear film, is achieved by depositing an aliquot-sized sample on a sample receiving substrate. The sample fluid is placed on a sample region of the substrate. Energy is imparted to the sample fluid and energy properties of the fluid can be detected to produce a sample fluid reading that indicates osmolarity of the sample fluid. An aliquot-sized volume can comprise, for example, a volume of no more than 20 microliters (μL). The aliquot-sized sample volume can be quickly and easily obtained, even from dry eye sufferers. The imparted energy can comprise electrical, optical or thermal energy. In the case of electrical energy, the energy property of the sample fluid can comprise electrical conductivity. In the case of optical energy, the energy property can comprise fluorescence. In the case of thermal energy, the measured property can be the freezing point of the sample fluid. Method and apparatus for measuring the coefficient of rolling friction or speed of a horizontal surface over which a round object is rolled such as a putting green encountered in the game of golf. The method includes a device for launching a ball across the surface at a constant and consistent velocity. An included timing device is triggered to start counting the elapsed time when the ball exits the launching device and continues counting until the ball has decelerated to a stop. At the instant the ball ceases moving the timer is triggered to terminate the count. The time required for a body with a specific velocity to come to rest after experiencing constant deceleration is determined by the laws of motion. The coefficient of friction or “speed” of the green which is proportional to the amount of deceleration may then be calculated. This time measurement is therefore sufficient to determine the speed of the green surface which may be reported as an equivalent “stimp” value.

An attached lid container has lids that are hinged to the top edges of the side walls of the container. When the lids are closed, the free edges of the lids engage one another to form a joint that interlocks the lids together. The lids are attached to the container at the hinge joints after the molding of the container and lids, while the molded parts are still in the mold press. Specifically, the lids are molded next to the container and then moved laterally to be aligned with the hinge line of the container after the mold cavity is withdrawn. Then, the ejectors push the lids out toward the container. The force of the outward movement causes the hinge parts of the lids and container to snap together. Subsequently a robot arm removes the container from the mold press with the hinged lids assembled on the container.

A system for removing single handle cartridges from housings of faucets and showers comprised of a core puller and a sleeve puller. The core and the sleeve of the cartridge are pulled in two separate steps. The core is pulled by attaching the core puller to the stem of the core with the open end of the core puller placed against the faucet/shower housing. The T-handle of the core puller is turned pulling the core out of the sleeve of the cartridge. The sleeve of the cartridge is then loosened using the sleeve puller which is expansively attached to the sleeve and twisted left and right sharply until the sleeve rotates inside the housing. The sleeve is then pulled by attaching the core puller to the outer end of the sleeve puller and turning the T-handle of the core puller to pull the sleeve puller and sleeve from the housing.

In order to measure the degree of filling of a dust collector (5), where the dust (15, 16) collected in the dust collector may be of a very varied composition ranging from very fine dust (15) to rather large particles (16), a high pressure difference and a low pressure difference are measured by two differential pressure meters (11, 12), where the one differential pressure meter (12) measures the pressure difference between the compartment (4) of the dust collector, in which the dust collector (5) is arranged, and a measurement position at the connecting stub (6) of the vacuum cleaner, as is known, while the other differential pressure meter (11) measures between two measurement positions inside the connecting stub (6). Hereby, the method and the filling indicator according to the invention will ensure that larger particles do not settle inside the connecting stub (6) since these are detected beforehand by the differential pressure meter (11) which records lower pressure differences that the differential pressure meter (12).
