Abstract: The invention relates to a process and an apparatus for the biotechnological production of a bioproduct. The process involves a first and second bioprocess carried out in a first and second bioreactor (2, 3), and a vessel (4). The first bioprocess is a carbon dioxide producing bioprocess resulting in the formation of the bioproduct, the second bioprocess a chemoautotrophic bioprocess in which CO2 produced in the first bioprocess is consumed by hydrogen oxidizing bacteria oxidizing H2 with O2 as electron acceptor. Electrolytically generated H2 and O2 are separated, and the O2 is fed directly into the second and/or first bioprocess, while H2 is first dissolved in a medium contained in the vessel (4). H2 saturated medium is then fed into the second bioprocess. Biomass produced in the second bioprocess is fed into the first bioprocess as an additional C and N source.

Abstract: Important variables which influence the efficiency of a hydrodynamic separation of dense materials using a hydrocyclone are the dynamic viscosity at the inflow of the hydrocyclone and the number of passes through the hydrocyclone. According to the invention, the method and the device allow a control of the viscosity in the hydrocyclone as well as the number of passes through the hydrocyclone when separating dense materials from a slurry in conjunction with an anaerobic fermentation of the constituents of the slurry which can be fermented. By fermenting the constituents of the slurry which can be fermented, the content of a fermentation reactor has a lower viscosity than the slurry being fed. The viscosity in the inflow of the hydrocyclone is set by means of a controlled return flow from a fermentation reactor, and the number of passes is set by a controlled return flow from the outflow of the hydrocyclone. The slurry is pumped into a return flow from the fermentation reactor. The viscosity in the inflow of the hydrocyclone is controlled by the throughput of the return pump on the basis of the content of solids of the slurry. The number of passes through the hydrocyclone is controlled via the ratio of the feed of the hydrocyclone to the feed of the fermentation reactor from which dense materials are removed. Because the process of diluting the slurry with the content of the fermentation reactor does not have an influence on the hydraulic dwell time in the fermentation reactor, the fermentation reactor can be designed for a smaller accumulation of slurry.

Abstract: Systems and methods described herein provide a data presentation, assimilation and monitoring system for a biomanufacturing system utilizing an array of bioreactors for conducting biomanufacturing experiments. In embodiments, the experiments may be controlled by recipes that can be created and altered by credentialed users. During experiments, credentialed users may monitor operational parameters of the bioreactors conducting experiments as well as batch and group parameters across multiple bioreactors. Further, credentialed users may alter recipes to the exclusion of other credentialed users while editing. Further yet, specific checklists may be utilized to ensure that correct and suited equipment (such as bioreactors and experiment bays) are matched with an experiment plan.
