Abstract: An image reading device includes a transport unit that transports a medium along a transport path, a sensor unit that is disposed on the transport path and reads an image of the transported medium, and a pressing unit that presses the sensor unit toward the transport path facing the sensor unit. The sensor unit includes a lens array having an elongated shape, a base frame that supports the lens array, and a cover portion that engages with the base frame and covers the lens array. The pressing unit abuts against the cover portion and presses the cover portion toward the transport path, from an abutting portion of the pressing unit that abuts against the cover portion. The base frame and the cover portion are separated from each other in a pressing direction in which the pressing unit presses the cover portion.

The terminal includes a display unit, a second processor configured to receive the control signals from the printer; and display a first operation screen on the display unit in a case where the first control signal is received, and display a second operation screen on the display unit in a case where the second control signal is received.

The prolate object is arranged in the end position.

Abstract: An image reading apparatus includes a conveying portion, a reading portion, an ejecting portion which ejects the sheet, conveyed by the conveying portion, in an ejection direction, and a sheet loading portion having a first loading portion and a second portion. The first loading portion is located below the ejecting portion and loaded with the sheet ejected from the ejecting portion. The second loading portion is located on a downstream side of the first loading portion in the ejection direction and is inclined with respect to the first loading portion so as to slope upward gradually further toward downstream in the ejection direction. In the ejection direction, a distance from the ejecting portion to an upstream end of the second loading portion is larger than a distance from the upstream end of the second loading portion to the downstream end of the loading portion.

Abstract: A system for performing substrateless and/or local donor Laser Induced Forward Transfer (LIFT), comprising a reservoir comprising at least one opening and an energy source configured to deliver energy to a donor material within said reservoir, characterized by at least one of: said reservoir is embedded into a medical device; said reservoir is in fluid connection with a medical device; said reservoir is incorporated into a medical device; said reservoir contains at least one biologically active substance; and, said reservoir is in fluid connection with at least one source of at least one biologically active substance. This system enables deposition of material by LIFT without any need for a donor substrate. Methods of substrateless and local donor LIFT, in particular for medical and biological applications, are also disclosed.
