    Abstract: A method for manufacturing a blade for electrophotographic devices and a blade for electrophotographic devices are provided. The method includes: an impregnation step of impregnating, from the surface of at least a part of a blade-shaped substrate containing urethane rubber, with a blocked isocyanate in which an isocyanate group is blocked with a blocking agent, wherein the part includes a portion that comes into contact with a mating member; and a curing step of dissociating the blocking agent from the blocked isocyanate impregnated into the substrate in the impregnation step, and then curing the released isocyanate in the substrate to form a cured portion in at least the part of the substrate including the portion that comes into contact with the mating member. In the method, the isocyanate released from the blocked isocyanate includes an aromatic isocyanate.

    Abstract: The disclosure provides a charging roll for excellent image quality electrophotographic equipment. This charging roll for electrophotographic equipment is provided with a shaft body, an elastic body layer formed on the outer periphery of the shaft body, and a surface layer formed on the outer periphery of the elastic body layer, wherein the surface layer contains a modifier having polyamide and a hydroxyl group, and has a Bénard cell with a height of 0.1 to 1.0 μm on the surface thereof. A fluorine-based modifier having a hydroxyl group, a silicone-based modifier having a hydroxyl group, and an acrylic modifier having a hydroxyl group can be cited as examples of the modifier having the hydroxyl group.

    Abstract: In a charging roll, at least one groove extending in a direction within ±46° relative to a circumferential direction is regularly formed in an axial direction on an outer peripheral surface of an elastic body layer. The groove has a width of 4 to 30 μm and a depth of 2 to 12 μm. A planar part being a portion of the outer peripheral surface of the elastic body layer other than the groove has a width of 4 to 30 μm. A specific relationship is present between an angle of the direction in which the groove extends relative to the circumferential direction and a ratio of the width of the groove to the width of the planar part. The surface layer includes a binder polymer and roughness forming particles. The roughness forming particles are respectively arranged on the planar part and the groove.

    Abstract: In a charging roll, grooves regularly defining spirals are formed on an elastic body layer, with a groove width of 4 μm to 280 μm and a groove depth of 2 μm to 30 μm. On an outer peripheral surface of the elastic body layer, an area ratio between an area of a bottom surface of the groove and an area of a plane part is 0.3 to 2.4. The surface layer includes a binder polymer and a roughness forming particle. The roughness forming particle is arranged on the plane part and the groove. A surface roughness of the surface layer on the groove is 2 μm to 16 μm. A surface roughness of the entire surface layer is 5 μm to 26 μm. A thickness of the binder polymer covering the roughness forming particle on the groove is greater than that on the plane part.

    Abstract: An elastic body layer is composed of a conductive rubber composition containing an isoprene rubber, a rubber other than the isoprene rubber, and carbon black. The elastic body layer is phase-separated into a first rubber phase containing the isoprene rubber and a second rubber phase containing the rubber other than the isoprene rubber; in the range of a 5 μm×5 μm square of an arbitrary cross section of the elastic body layer, the area ratio of the first rubber phase is within a range of 10 to 90%. The resistance value of the elastic body layer is within a range of 1.0×103 to 1.0×106Ω. A surface layer contains an electronic conductive agent and a crosslinked body of at least one polyurethane resin of an ether polyurethane resin and a carbonate polyurethane resin, and the glass transition point of the surface layer is within a range of −10 to −70° C.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a charging member for electrophotographic equipment capable of providing constant and excellent uniform chargeability over a long period of time from low-temperature and low-humidity through high-temperature and high-humidity environments, while suppressing bleeding. A charging member for electrophotographic equipment includes an elastic layer and a surface layer formed around the elastic layer. The elastic layer includes the following (a) through (c): (a) an ion conducting agent that is solid at room temperature; (b) an ion conducting agent that is liquid at room temperature; and (c) an electron conducting agent with an average grain diameter of 25 to 90 nm and a DBP absorption of 152 ml/100 g or below.
