Abstract: A noise suppression apparatus disclosed is capable of suppressing pulse noise in an input signal even in a situation in which the level of the input signal changes. The pulse noise mixed in the input signal is suppressed, and linear prediction coefficients for the input signal is derived by linear prediction analysis. A prediction residual signal is then calculated from the input signal using the linear prediction coefficient. A threshold value is calculated based on the signal level of the input signal and the signal level of the prediction residual signal is compared with the threshold value. A limit control is performed on the prediction residual signal depending on a result of the comparison, and an output signal is generated based on the prediction residual signal having been subjected to the limit control using the linear prediction coefficient.

Abstract: An acoustic echo cancellation device includes: a first echo canceller which, using an input signal obtained from at least two microphones and a reproduced signal outputted to a speaker, produces a first pseudo echo signal which indicates a component of the reproduced signal contained in the input signal; and a second echo canceller which, using at least one input signal outputted from the at least two microphones and the first pseudo echo signal, produces a second pseudo echo signal which indicates a component of the first pseudo echo signal contained in the at least one input signal, and cancels an acoustic echo component of the at least one input signal using the second pseudo echo signal.

Abstract: A signal processing method includes: multiplying at least one of M signals output from M microphones by a gain so as to equalize sound pressure levels of the M signals, the M signals representing sounds that arrive at the M microphones from a sound source located within a predetermined distance from the M microphones, M being an integer equal to or greater than two; delaying at least one of the M signals so as to resolve time discrepancies between the M signals, the time discrepancies being caused by differences in arrival time between sounds that arrive at the M microphones from the sound source; and applying a filter so as to suppress a signal which is included in the M signals obtained through the multiplying and the delaying and which represents a sound output from the sound source located within the predetermined distance.

Abstract: A sound pick-up device includes an adaptive filter configured to generate, from a reference signal, an estimated noise signal indicating a component of a noise signal contained in an input signal, a noise elimination signal generator configured to generate a noise elimination signal by subtracting the estimated noise signal from the input signal, a filter coefficient update unit configured to update a filter coefficient of the adaptive filter using the noise elimination signal, and a sample position identification unit configured to identify at least one signal sample position among a plurality of signal sample positions from a signal sample position where the noise elimination signal has a maximum absolute value to a signal sample position where the noise elimination signal has an absolute value that is largest at a predetermined order, in which the filter coefficient update unit updates the filter coefficient at the at least one signal sample position.

Abstract: A sound pickup device includes a plurality of microphone elements, a sensitivity correcting unit that corrects a difference in sensitivity among the microphone elements by multiplying an output signal of each of the microphone elements by a gain. The sound pickup device also includes a target sound detecting unit that detects a voice of a speaker as a target sound, a sensitivity correction control unit that controls the gain based on a result of detecting the target sound, and a directivity synthesizing unit that picks up the target sound in a boosted manner using the output signals from the microphone elements of which difference in sensitivity is corrected. The sensitivity correction control unit updates the gain based on the output signals from the microphone elements if the voice of the speaker is detected and does not update the gain if the voice of the speaker is not detected.

Abstract: A noise suppressing apparatus that calculates a suppression coefficient for suppressing noise of an input signal by using a frequency spectrum of the input signal includes a frequency converting section that converts the input signal into a frequency spectrum; a noise level estimating section that calculates an estimated noise level of the input signal; a weight coefficient calculating section that calculates N (N is 2 or more) weight coefficients at predetermined intervals; and a suppression coefficient calculating section that calculates a joint distribution model of sound by weighting N statistical distribution models with the N weight coefficients, derives an estimation expression for a sound spectrum of the input signal on the basis of posteriori probability using the calculated joint distribution model of sound as priori probability, and calculates the suppression coefficient on the basis of the derived estimation expression and level of the input signal.
