    Abstract: A composite electrode plate of increased robustness and with better electrical properties for incorporation in a battery cell includes a composite current collector, a positive active material layer, a negative active material layer, a first isolation layer, and a second isolation layer. The composite current collector is disposed between the positive active material layer and the negative active material layer. The first isolation layer connects to a surface of the positive active material layer away from the composite current collector. The second isolation layer connects to a surface of the negative active material layer away from the composite current collector.

    Abstract: An electrode assembly includes a cathode electrode plate, an anode electrode plate, and a separator disposed between the cathode electrode plate and the anode electrode plate. At least one of the cathode electrode plate and the anode electrode plate is an electrode plate which includes a current collector and a first conductive connector. The current collector includes an insulating layer having opposite side surfaces, a first conductive layer, a second conductive layer, and two electrode active substance layers. The first conductive layer and the second conductive layer are arranged on opposite side surfaces, and the two electrode active substance layers are coated onto the first conductive layer and the second conductive layer. The first conductive connector electrically connects the first conductive layer and the second conductive layer. The electrode assembly is formed by coiling the cathode electrode plate, the separator, and the anode electrode plate.

    Abstract: A current collector with electrode tab areas of reduced resistance includes a polymer layer and a first metal layer. The polymer layer includes a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface. The first metal layer is arranged on the first surface, and includes a first area and a second area coupled to the first area. In the direction of a thickness of the current collector, the thickness of the second area is greater than that of the first area. The present disclosure further provides an electrode plate and a battery cell using the current collector. Due to an increase of a thickness of the second area, a charge transfer resistance of the electrode tab is greatly reduced.

    Abstract: An electrode plate with increased energy density includes a current collector, an active layer disposed on the current collector, and a tab electrically connected to the current collector. The current collector includes a main body and a plurality of protruding portions formed by extending the main body. The plurality of protruding portions are spaced apart from each other to define a plurality of gaps. The active layer is disposed on the main body and the plurality of protruding portions. The tab is disposed in one of the plurality of gaps. The disclosure also provides an electrode assembly using the electrode plate.

    Abstract: A current collector for a lithium ion battery of reduced sensitivity to shocks and jars includes an insulating substrate, a first conductive layer; and at least one extended conductive layer extending from the first conductive layer. The insulating substrate has a main region and at least one tab region extending therefrom. The main region includes first and second surfaces opposing each other. The tab region includes a first extended surface extending from the first surface, and a second extended surface extending from the second surface. The first conductive layer covers the first surface, and the at least one extended conductive layer covers the first extended surface. Each tab region and extended conductive layer form a tab. The disclosure also provides an electrode plate and an electrode assembly.

    Abstract: A battery cell includes at least one electrode plate. The electrode plate includes a composite current collector having an ionic conductive material and two active material layers disposed on the composite current collector. The active material layers include a positive active material layer and a negative active material layer. The composite current collector is disposed between the positive active material layer and the negative active material layer. Each of the positive active material layer and the negative active material layer is connected to the ionic conductive material. The battery cell is a multilayered structure formed by folding a single electrode plate upon itself or by stacking the electrode plates together, adjacent active material layers in two adjacent layers of the battery cell are of a same polarity. A battery using the battery cell is also provided.

    Abstract: An electrode plate for a lithium battery includes a composite current collector, a first active material layer, and a first electrode tab. The composite current collector includes a polymer layer and first metallic layer thereon. The first active material layer is disposed on a surface of the first metallic layer facing away from the polymer layer. The first active material layer defines a first receiving groove at an edge of the first active material layer. The first electrode tab is received in the first receiving groove, and is electrically connected to the first metallic layer. The thickness of the first electrode tab can be varied according to the electrical resistance desired. Thus, a high resistance of the first electrode tab is avoided.
