Abstract: The examples of the present application provide a positive electrode material and a lithium-ion battery. The positive electrode material comprises: a substrate material; and a coating material formed on at least one part of a surface of the substrate material; the general formula of the substrate material being LixCoyM1-yO2, wherein 1.0≤x≤1.2, 0.8≤y≤1.0 and M is at least one selected from the group consisting of Mg, Ti, Al, Zr, Ni, Mn; the coating material includes Y2O3 and at least two selected from the group consisting of La2O3, ZrO2 and CeO2. The examples of the present application enable the battery prepared by the provided positive electrode material to have a lower storage expansion ratio, a higher capacity retention ratio, and improved cycle performance at a high charge cutoff voltage by the interaction of at least three kinds of oxides.

Abstract: A positive electrode material includes a lithium composite oxide, and the positive electrode material comprises stress relief particles. There are cavities inside the stress relief particles, and the cavities are closed structures. The positive electrode material that includes the stress relief particles can be used to effectively tackle a stress and relieve the stress in advance, relieve a strain of the positive electrode material used at a high voltage, avoid ruptures of particles of the positive electrode material, and enhance structural stability of the positive electrode material. The positive electrode material and the electrochemical device having the positive electrode material achieve good high-voltage cycle performance and cycle stability.

Abstract: The present application relates to a cathode material and an electrochemical device comprising the same. In particular, the present application relates to a cathode material having a surface heterophasic structure, wherein the cathode material includes a lithium cobalt oxide and an oxide of cobalt, wherein a Raman spectrum of the cathode material has characteristic peaks in the range of about 470 cm−1 to about 530 cm−1, about 560 cm−1 to about 630 cm−1 and about 650 cm−1 to about 750 cm−1, and wherein the surface heterophasic structure of the cathode material includes the lithium cobalt oxide and the oxide of cobalt. The electrochemical device using the cathode material having a surface heterophasic structure of the present application can exhibit excellent cycle performance and thermal stability.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of the Li-ion battery and, particularly, relates to a cathode material for the Li-ion battery, a method for preparing the same and a Li-ion battery containing the same. A surface of the cathode material of spinel type lithium-manganese-nickel-containing composite oxide of the present invention is coated with a complex coating layer composed of a first coating layer containing Li7La3Zr2O12 and a second coating layer containing LiNbO3. The method includes: firstly coating the first coating layer containing Li7La3Zr2O12 on the surface of spinel type lithium-manganese-nickel-containing composite oxide in a solid phase method; and then coating the second coating layer containing LiNbO3 in a hydro-thermal method. The cathode material of the present invention improves cycle stability and rate performance of spinel type lithium-manganese-nickel-containing composite oxide, and meanwhile reduces dissolution and erosion effect of the electrolyte on the cathode material during charging or discharging.
