Abstract: A LED controller for an LED pixel array includes a serial interface to an external data bus, along with an address generator connected to the serial interface and the LED pixel array. An image frame buffer is connected to the interface to receive image data and further connected to the address generator to receive an image frame buffer address. A command and control module is connected to the serial interface and configured to modify image frame buffer output signals. A calibration data storage module is connected to the command and control module to store calibration data related to pixel voltage response in the LED pixel array.

Abstract: A flexible three dimensional display assembly is provided. The flexible display assembly includes electrically interconnected light emitting elements, a flexible lattice fixture and a display bezel. The light emitting elements are electrically interconnected by a system of conductors. The light emitting elements are coupled to the flexible lattice fixture by an arrangement of structurally interconnected framing cells that receive pairs of the light emitting elements. The flexible lattice fixture is secured to the substrate of the display bezel such that the pairs of light emitting elements are maintained in optical alignment with corresponding pairs of apertures of the display bezel.

Abstract: A lighting unit includes a power supply that provides a maximum voltage and multiple LED lighting circuits. Each of the LED lighting circuits includes an LED string, multiple switches, a switching sequencer and a switch controller. The LED string includes multiple series-connected emitters having a total forward voltage that exceeds the maximum voltage of the power supply. Each of the switches is coupled in parallel with a respective LED of the LED string. The switching sequencer provides a sequence of switching patterns such that a total forward voltage of simultaneously active LEDs in each switching pattern does not exceed the maximum voltage of the power supply. The switch controller actuates switches according to each of the switching patterns in the sequence. The LED string of each of the plurality of LED lighting circuits is arranged in a two-dimensional array.

Abstract: An LED lighting package is described that contains a first LED string with a plurality of series-connected light-emitting diodes and a first linear regulator arranged to determine the current through the first LED string. At least one further LED string includes a plurality of series-connected light-emitting diodes of a different color, and a further linear regulator is arranged to determine the current through that LED string. The different colored LED strings are connected in parallel. A common voltage supply is used for the LED strings. The number of light-emitting diodes in the first LED string exceeds the number of light-emitting diodes in each further LED string (, and the number of light-emitting diodes in each LED string is chosen such that the total forward voltage of a further LED string is essentially the same as the total forward voltage of the first LED string.
