Abstract: A pixel for an organic light emitting diode (OLED) display and an OLED display are discussed. The pixel includes a driving transistor, a first transistor, a scan transistor, a first emission control transistor, and an initialization control transistor. The driving transistor includes a gate electrode connected to a first node, a drain electrode connected to a second node, and a source electrode connected to a third node. The first transistor is connected between the first node and the second node. The scan transistor is connected between the third node and a data line. The first emission control transistor is connected between the second node and an anode electrode of an organic light emitting diode. The initialization control transistor is connected between an input terminal of an initialization voltage and the anode electrode of the organic light emitting diode.

Abstract: A data driver supplies a data signal to a display panel to control luminance of a plurality of pixels. The data signal comprises a plurality of frames, and each of the frames comprises a plurality of sub-frames. Each of the sub-frames comprises an addressing time, followed by an emission time, followed by an erase time. Subpixels each include a first scan line switch controlled by the first scan line signal to turn on during the addressing time of each sub-frame and to turn off during the emission time and the erase time of each sub-frame. A second scan line switch is controlled by a second scan line signal to provide a discharge path to discharge the storage capacitor during the erase time of each sub-frame.

Abstract: A special mode processor drives a display panel to display an image. When the display panel is configured to operate in a special operation mode, the special operation mode processor determines a pixel block size for blocking the plurality of pixels into a plurality of pixel blocks and determines a first set of on-pixels and a first set of off-pixels. The first set of on-pixels is initially turned on and the first set of off-pixels is initially turned off. A drive history representative value is generated for the first group of pixels that represents a drive time and drive characteristic for the first group of pixels. The drive history representative value is compared with a threshold value. Responsive to the drive history representative value exceeding the threshold value, a second set of on-pixels and a second set of off-pixels are turned on and off respectively.

Abstract: A display device is provided for dividing one frame period into a plurality of subframe periods, separating data of an input image on a per bit basis, mapping the data of the input image to the subframe periods, and representing gray levels of the input image. The display device includes a measurement unit configured to measure a current of a pixel; a luminance error calculation unit configured to calculate a rush current of the pixel emitting light at the measured current value, and to calculate a luminance error of the pixel based on the rush current; and a luminance error compensation unit configured to reduce an emission time of one of the subframe periods or remap the subframe periods to compensate for the luminance error.

Abstract: An organic light-emitting display device including a display panel, a power supply, a selective driver and a gamma change driver is disclosed. The display panel includes sub-pixels. The power supply is configured to output a drive voltage for driving the sub-pixels. The selective driver is configured to generate a control signal to enable selective drive between first and second driving schemes for a drive transistor in each sub-pixel, wherein the first and second schemes employ saturation and linear regions of the drive voltage curve respectively. The gamma change driver is configured to change a gamma based on the driving scheme selected by the selective driver.
