Abstract:
According to an aspect, an image degradation prevention module for reducing image degradation includes a screen region monitor configured to derive light information for each of a plurality of regions of a display screen, an element movement detector configured to derive element motion information for a plurality of display elements displayed in the plurality of regions, and a decision engine configured to select a corrective action among a plurality of corrective actions for at least one display element of the plurality of display elements to reduce image degradation based on the light information and the element motion information. The light information may include light intensity information indicating a rate of change in light intensity of pixels within each region. The element motion information may include a rate of movement for each display element within the display screen.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer-readable storage medium, for determining a suggested time for linking interactions with events. A method includes: identifying data for a content provider that includes events and data related to presentation of and interactions of users with content; identifying a model for linking interactions with events that includes criteria for use in evaluating an interaction to determine when to link an interaction to a given event; for each event, determining a number of interactions that occurred in each of multiple time periods prior to a given event; performing a mathematical operation on the number of interactions in each time period producing a result; and determining a suggested time for linking interactions and events based on the result for each time period, the suggested time representing an amount of time before an event in which interactions are appropriately linked to the event.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for improving a content provider's bid efficiency in an auction are disclosed. A bid efficiency improvement module of a data processing system identifies a keyword on which a third-party content provider has placed a bid to serve at least one third-party content item. The module retrieves third-party content performance data for the identified keyword. The module determines that the third-party content performance data is sufficient to calculate one or more bid multipliers for the identified keyword. The bid multipliers are calculated based on the retrieved third-party content performance data. The bid multipliers are based on one of a geographic region in which the third-party content item is to be served, a time-of-day at which the third-party content item is to be served, or a type-of-device on which the third-party content item is to be served. The calculated bid multipliers are stored in a memory.
Abstract:
A method of improving a traffic pattern through web page nodes of a website is provided, including selecting web page nodes. The traffic pattern includes a sequence of nodes. Each node represents a first page having a link to a second page in a subsequent node. A visitor to a node prior to a conversion node either navigates to a subsequent node or fails to progress to a subsequent node. The method also includes, for each web page, identifying display elements on the web page node that are associated with a decreased probability that the user progresses through the traffic pattern to a subsequent web page node in the predetermined traffic pattern, determining a metric representing an impact on a conversion attributable to the display elements, ranking the plurality of web page nodes based on the metrics for each web page node.
