Abstract:
In one embodiment, a method for transmitting a first media access control (MAC) protocol data unit (PDU) includes determining a plurality of user equipments (UEs) in a group of UEs and determining that a first MAC PDU is destined for multiple UEs in the group of UEs. The method also includes setting the first MAC PDU to indicate that the first MAC PDU is destined for multiple UEs in the group of UEs and transmitting, by a communications controller to the plurality of UEs, the first MAC PDU.
Abstract:
A system and method for information delivery with multiple point transmission are provided. A method for detecting lost packets is provided. The method includes initiating a timer for a received packet at a receiving transmission point, where the timer is set according to a time value associated with the received packet. The method also includes determining that a delivery of the received packet has failed according to the timer elapsing, and transmitting a lost packet report to a primary transmission point that distributed the received packet to the receiving transmission point.
Abstract:
A system and method for multiple point transmission in a communications system are provided. A method for multiple point transmission operation comprises modifying a configuration of a radio bearer for use in a multiple point transmission to a user equipment according to operating condition information of the user equipment, reconfiguring the radio bearer according to the modified configuration, and initiating a multiple point transmission to the user equipment using the reconfigured radio bearer.
Abstract:
A method for operating a first distributed unit (DU) includes participating in a link layer context transfer with a second DU, establishing a user data path for a mobile device, the user data path connecting the mobile device with a centralized unit (CU) including a radio control protocol entity communicating with the mobile device, and storing first user data for the mobile device received from the CU and second user data for the mobile device received from the second DU. The method includes establishing a connection with the mobile device, sending the first user data and the second user data to the mobile device, and adapting the link layer context to operate in the first DU for exchanging data between the CU and the mobile device, wherein adapting the link layer context includes associating an uppermost protocol layer of the first DU with a lowest protocol layer of the CU.
Abstract:
A method for reserving a shared channel in a wireless communications system includes when a first device has a communications to start at a first time, determining, by the first device, a push-forward duration in accordance with at least quality of service (QoS) information associated with the communications, and performing, by the first device, at least one clear channel assessment (CCA) to reserve the shared channel at a second time that is before the first time by the push-forward duration.
Abstract:
Embodiments are provided herein for enabling buffer status reporting for Multi-stream aggregation (MSA) in wireless networks. In an embodiment, a user equipment (UE) receives from a network, a configuration regarding one of enabling and disabling cross-node buffer status reporting. The UE further receives a first uplink grant from a first network node, and obtains a buffer status intended for a second network node. Upon enabling cross-node buffer status reporting according to the configuration, the UE transmits, in the first uplink grant to the first network node, the buffer status intended for the second network node. The first network node receives, from the UE, the buffer status intended for the second network node, and determines whether to forward the buffer status to the second network node according to the configuration regarding buffer status forwarding previously received at the first network node.
Abstract:
A single hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) entity can be associated with multiple serving units to achieve lower complexity user-side signal processing during multi-point communication. Additionally, configuring a single HARQ entity to establish HARQ operations with multiple serving units may achieve lower latency communication when users are engaging in multi-point communications, such as coordinated multi-point transmission/reception (CoMP). HARQ entity associations and/or reconfigurations can be achieved through radio resource control (RRC) signaling.

Abstract:
A method for communicating in a wireless communications system includes generating a channel state information (CSI) process information element (IE) including a CSI process identifier, a non-zero padded CSI-reference signal (CSI-RS) identifier, an interference measurement resource (IMR) identifier, and channel quality indicator (CQI) report configuration information. The method also includes transmitting the CSI process IE.
