Abstract:
A display device is mounted on and/or inside the eye. The eye mounted display contains multiple sub-displays, each of which projects light to different retinal positions within a portion of the retina corresponding to the sub-display. The projected light propagates through the pupil but does not fill the entire pupil. In this way, multiple sub-displays can project their light onto the relevant portion of the retina. Moving from the pupil to the cornea, the projection of the pupil onto the cornea will be referred to as the corneal aperture. The projected light propagates through less than the full corneal aperture. The sub-displays use spatial multiplexing at the corneal surface. Various electronic devices interface to the eye mounted display.
Abstract:
The spam blocker monitors the SMTP/TCP/IP conversation between a sending message transfer agent MTA—0 and a receiving message transfer agent MTA—1; catches MTA—0's IP address IP—0, MTA—0's declared domain D—0, from-address A—0; to-address A—1, and the body of the message; and uses this source and content information to test for unsolicited messages. It alters the conversation to reject, divert or intercept the message if the message is suspected of being unsolicited.
Abstract:
The creation of a variety of upgradeable scalable switching networks are set forth including multistage switching networks as well as novel multidirectional architectures. Systems and methods exploiting the properties such as fault tolerance, upgradeability without service disruption and path redundancy are incorporated into a variety of systems. A wide range of methods for upgrading and reconfiguring the scalable switching networks are presented including manifestations of implementations of these networks and methods. Methods for designing new upgradeable scalable switching and the novel architectures derived thereof including architectures built from the redundant blocking compensated cyclic group networks are set forth.

Abstract:
In a supercomputer that employs a large number of processors operating in parallel, groups of processors are assembled in clusters. Each processor in a cluster is provided with an array of lasers, a different one targeted for a particular detector associated with a specific processor of a different cluster. The detectors associated with the processors in the different cluster are assembled into an array of detectors. A processor wishing to communicate with a processor in a different cluster excites the laser in its associated array that is targeted to the detector of the processor with which it intends to communicate. The patterns of light of the various laser arrays are superimposed into one pattern focused on the detector array by means of an optical tunnel and a spherical lens.
Abstract:
An optical communication system is implemented using a Sagnac switch to generate a new data signal from a received deteriorated data signal using a clock signal which operates in frequency synchronism but not in phase synchronism with the received data signal. In another embodiment, an optical communication system is implemented by stretching out the loop of the Sagnac switch so that the system transmitter includes the control signal coupler of the Sagnac switch, the receiver includes the combining coupler of the Sagnac switch and the loop becomes the optical communication path connecting the transmitter and receiver.
Abstract:
An optical arrangement permutes elements of a multi-dimensional array by projecting an input element array onto an output via a plurality of optical paths. Each optical path provides a relative shift in its projection on the output plane whereby there is a prescribed permutation of elements.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a full access, non-blocking, wide band switching network that is self routing. Responsive to input signals having embedded destination addresses, the self routing switching network comprises a conventional self routing sorting network followed by a self routing expander. Incoming signals are ordered, and simultaneously appear at the output of the sorting network in ascending order of destination addresses. The signals incoming to the expander network are also processes simultaneously. The processing consists of relating the intermediate address of the expander network input line at which each signal appears with the destination address of the signal, and steering the signal to the appropriate output line in accordance with said relating.
