Abstract:
An apparatus on an integrated circuit, and method thereof, provides a real-time flexible interface between inputs from a vehicle components and outputs to the vehicle control components. The functions comprises of a programmable interconnection matrix, engine sensors and a control interface. Both engine sensors and control functions comprise of fixed hardwired functions and a customization hardware area. The apparatus therefore provides means for flexible powertrain events control target for the next generation of low-polluting power trains of vehicles.
Abstract:
A real time functional replicator (10) of a specific integrated circuit comprised of a processing unit and peripherals in order to perform specific digital and/or analog functions controlled by specific software, this specific integrated circuit being designed to be incorporated into a specified application board. Such a device includes a processing module (12) that is functionally identical to the processing unit of the specific integrated circuit, a plurality of peripheral modules (14, 16, 18) each able to implement one or more digital and/or analog functions, each of the functions being able to be selected separately, and function interconnection means (20) for establishing the connections between the processing module and one ore more digital and/or analog functions located in at least one of the peripheral modules which are identical to the specific functions of the specific integrated circuit, such that the replicator behaves identically to the specific integrated circuit when the specific software is run.

Abstract:
An apparatus, protocol and methods for reducing vehicle energy consumption and for precise electronic event control, by implementing full CPU off-loading, using pulse-width modulation (PWM) with analog feedback diagnosis enabling real-time operation. Accordingly, analog feedback is used for external integrated circuits (IC) controlled by a PWM output, for processes to be analyzed. The apparatus includes a microprocessor that integrates an autonomous PWM module and an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) group manager, each including register modules for enabling analog-to-digital signal conversion comparisons of PWM feedback data, and generating of an interrupt commands when required.
Abstract:
An apparatus, protocol and methods for configuration of a platform for prototyping and emulation of a system-on-chip (SOC) device. The apparatus is an extensible platform for configurable prototyping of SOCs using an integrated circuit board comprised of a configurable board controller and a plurality of configurable modules which implement the SOC functionality. A plurality of such platform boards may be linked together to provide emulation and prototyping functionality for a multi-core system. The protocol specifies the SOC platform configuration data, commands for configuration and reading and writing data to each module and the communications between the host computer and the platform. The apparatus uses methods for configurable execution of the configuration commands by the board controller, and for the preparation of the configuration specification by the host computer. The host computer provides a user interface for management of the configuration specification preparation.

Abstract:
An apparatus for interfacing between a CPU and Flash memory units, enabling optimized sequential access to the Flash memory units. The apparatus interfaces between the address, control and data buses of the CPU and the address, control and data lines of the Flash memory units. The apparatus anticipates the subsequent memory accesses, and interleaves them between the Flash memory units. An optimization of the read access is therefore provided, thereby improving Flash memory throughput and reducing the latency. Specifically, the apparatus enables improved Flash access in embedded CPUs incorporated in a System-On-Chip (SOC) device.
Abstract:
A method for the simulation of the acoustical quality produced by a virtual sound source and for the localizing of this source with respect to one or more listeners, and one or more original sound sources. This method consists in: 1) fixing values of perceptual parameters defining the acoustical quality to be simulated and values of parameters defining the localization of a virtual source, 2) converting these values into a pulse response described by its energy distribution as a function of the time and the frequency, 3) carrying out a context compensation so as to take account of an existing room effect, 4) obtaining an artificial reverberation from elementary signals so as to achieve a virtual acoustic environment in real time and control the localizing of the virtual source. This method can be used to modify sound signals coming from a real source, or to create sound effects on recording media. An acoustic virtual processor which enables implementation of this method comprises a signal processing "room" module that enables the obtaining of an artificial reverberation and a signal processing "pan" module enabling the controlling of the localization and the movement of the sound source and that carries out a format conversion into another reproduction mode. The acoustic virtual processor can be used to fit out all types of entertainment halls or games halls.

Abstract:
A video-conferencing system between participants located at distant sites, each site featuring a viewing screen. The viewing screen is a large screen of the projection, overhead projection, or direct projection type which has one or more viewing systems forming an image wall to simultaneously view all the distant participants within a space reproduced on the image wall formed by the screen. The system includes devices for each site that spatially distribute the sound to match the sound generated by each distant participant and the image of the participant projected on the screen at the site considered.
