Abstract:
This device will allow individuals to pass through explosive detection portals efficiently without undue delay. The airflow from a series of jets will dislodge embedded molecules and direct them to a sensor that will detect the presence of commonly found explosive materials. The molecules that are dislodged will be accomplished by air flow through an air tunnel or portal structure that is not invasive to the person yet allows real time detection of explosive material while not infringing on the privacy of the individual.
Abstract:
This is a method and apparatus for bridge collision alert and monitoring impact analysis, which allows users of the method and apparatus to continuously monitor the integrity of a bridge as well as to detect insult or impact to the bridge structure or both as well as viewing purposes as for forensic purposes. The system is comprised of a series of monitors that gather different pieces of date and integrate that data into a system for view by the operator.

Abstract:
This is a method and apparatus for the detection of a noninvasive method by which illegal riders can be detected. This will save tremendous amounts of time and money with regard to the inspection of individual trains and also minimize the necessity of randomly stopping a train and randomly inspecting cars on the train.
Abstract:
Dry municipal solid waste material is subjected to a two-step magnetic separation process to recover ferrous values therefrom. The process includes passing the raw solid waste material through a shredder to reduce the waste to particles at a size of 3 inches or less, passing the particles through a series of two magnetic fields, recovering ferrous-containing fractions from each passage, combining the two ferrous-containing fractions and subjecting them to air classification in a cyclone separator to recover a clean particulate ferrous product, and a waste byproduct and recycling the waste byproduct to pass again through one or both of the two magnetic fields.
Abstract:
This invention will provide a quick and safe method to inspect the condition of a pantograph and associated contacts to insure that appropriate contact is maintained and that a light rail car operates with maximum efficiency. Cameras that are capable of operating in low levels of lighting will capture visual images of the pantograph and contacts and relay that information to a remote location for appropriate action. The data concerning the condition of the pantograph may be stored for forensic purposes and routine corrective action.
Abstract:
An enclosed drainage facility to dry municipal waste combustion ash has a plurality of spaced elongated channels to drain by gravity, water from piles of ash into a disposal or reclamation pool. The channels are sloping concrete ditches leading to a common trough or pipe to a covered storage basin. Steel plates pierced with a plurality of spaced slender slits abut each other to cover each channel. The atmosphere in the facility is changed by being pumped into one side of the facility and exhausted adjacent an opposite side. Also, a process for drying municipal waste combustion ash includes dewatering and drying of ash piles in an atmosphere of warm dry air for a period of time necessary to reduce the moisture to about 28%.
