Abstract:
The rendering of hierarchical data having large number of nodes, such as organizational charts, can present challenges based upon the browser technology utilized. Rendering of thousands of nodes can be memory intensive and provide poor performance when rendered in a browser. A method of rendering hierarchical data in a browser is provided. Node data from a datastore associated with human resources management software is retrieved. Each item of node data is associated with an employee of the associated organization. A viewport for the hierarchical data structure is determined based upon the computing device used for viewing the hierarchical data structure. Coordinates for nodes in the hierarchical structure based upon their relative position in the hierarchy and a configuration of the view port can then be determined and rendered.
Abstract:
A system and method are provided to enable competency based device access. The ability for a user to use a particular device may require demonstration of a skill or competency. Access control can be provided for a device to limit user access and to configure the device based upon the user competencies to utilize or perform functions on the device. The competency of the user can be defined in a competency checklist used to determine the skill or certifications of a user maintained by a resource management system.

Abstract:
Formatting of content for presentation on a display of a computing device is provided. The computing device receives a request to present content associated with a user identifier (ID) of a user of a computing device. Personality attributes associated with the user ID are retrieved defining personality characteristics of the user associated with the user ID. A template is retrieved based on the retrieved personality attributes, the template defining content presentation parameters in respect of the personality attributes. Content is formatted associated with the request using the parameters of retrieved template. The formatted content is presented on the display of the computing device associated with the user ID.
Abstract:
An automation testing framework is provided for testing user interface elements in an application. Actions may be executed on elements of the application using a state machine in order to eliminate a need to insert wait periods into the test tool. An adaptive delay is applied to execution of the user interface element when execution cannot be validated prior to re-execution of the user interface element. The adaptive delay removes testing instability and accelerating testing of the application.
