Abstract:
A centering syringe plunger guide (140) includes a guide body (141) including a proximal end (142) and a distal end (149), a coupling bore (143) extending partially into the guide body (141) from the proximal end (142), a precision guide bore (144) extending partially into the guide body (141) from the coupling bore (143), with the precision guide bore (144) adapted to fit over a barrel precision diameter of a syringe barrel and hold the centering syringe plunger guide (140) in a predetermined substantially coaxial alignment with the syringe barrel, and a guide plunger bore (145) extending completely from the precision guide bore (144) to the distal end (149) of the guide body (141). The guide plunger bore (145) is adapted to receive a syringe plunger and is configured to substantially center the syringe plunger in a plunger bore of the syringe barrel.
Abstract:
The commercial demand for higher aggregate data rates has led to DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexed) transmissions. Network elements need the capacity in these systems to reconfigure in case of a bit stream failure. The instant invention can bridge communications between other network elements including optical and electrical signal network elements, when a loss of signal detection circuit to substitute a second bit stream for a time delayed original bit stream and a circuit element connected to the loss of signal detection circuit to permit the network elements to reconfigure without activating automatic protect switch mechanisms of a bridged network. The instant invention also teaches a method for ensuring communication of network elements of a bridged network including optical and electrical signal network elements, by detecting a loss of signal in a transmitted bit stream; substituting a second bit stream for a time delayed original bit stream; and allowing network elements to crossconnect to reconfigure optical channels in a manner that will not interfere with network functions.
Abstract:
Modified walkers for use by persons having physical disabilities are provided. The modified walkers permit a person using the walker to more easily turn from one position to another.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for providing a service are provided. A request is received to provide the service to a device. A location of the device, or a network interface through which the device is coupled, is determined. Finally, the delivery of the service is authorized based on the determined location of the device, or the determined network interface.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for delivering a segmented content item from a server to a first and second device are provided. A first key is used to encrypt the segmented content item into a first plurality of encrypted segments and a second key is used to encrypt the segmented content item into a second plurality of encrypted segments. The first and second keys are different. The first plurality of encrypted segments is delivered to the first device, and the second plurality of encrypted segments is delivered to the second device.

Abstract:
Methods, devices and systems are provided that display images in a manner that provides for effective space management. At least one item is horizontally displayed in a first display area. Upon selection by a user of at least one item from the first display area, an indication of the at least one item is vertically displayed in a second display area.
Abstract:
A method employing a self-synchronous scrambler for transforming an arbitrary bit-stream into a bit-stream suitable for input to a DWDM network, and for reconstituting the original bit-stream from the transformed bit-stream. This method enables DWDM network equipment to properly transport data independent of the bit-stream characteristics and line encoding of the data. The self-synchronous scrambler of the present invention equalizes the number of “1”s and ‘0”s in an input bit-pattern over time periods of a few bit-clock periods, thus making it suitable for transport over a DWDM channel and providing for the recovery of the original bit-pattern from the scrambled pattern.
Abstract:
A method, system and computer program product for displaying media is provided herein. The method includes the steps of receiving, at a media server, streaming media from a source device located at a first user's premises and transmitting the streaming media from the media server to a display device at the second user's premises. The media server is located remotely from both the first user's premises and the second user's premises. The first user's premises and the second user's premises may be the same. The media server may be located at a cable television headend.
