    Abstract: Methods, techniques, computer program products, apparatus, devices, etc., used in connection with DSL Management Interfaces, significantly improve the management capabilities of a DSL network and/or improve testing relating to DSL equipment and services by permitting better control and operation of a DSL system, including implementation of timestamping for more accurate measurement, monitoring and control of a system. Timestamping further allows customized data collection techniques, where a DSL line can be measured or monitored at intervals whose frequency depends on the line's stability. Moreover, data parameter read and control parameter write operations are presented in conjunction with the use of timestamping. Also, control and operation of a DSL system is enhanced by implementing bit-loading that minimizes, eliminates or otherwise mitigates the amount by which the SNR margin per tone exceeds a maximum SNR margin quantity, where such bit-loading can be selected through an appropriate interface.

    Abstract: In accordance with embodiments disclosed herein, there are provided apparatuses, systems and methods for implementing wireless system discovery and control using a state-space. For example, such means may include: establishing, a communications interface between an access point optimizer and a wireless access point; identifying one or more interfering wireless nodes exhibiting electromagnetic interference upon the wireless access point; collecting data from the wireless access point; determining a model of the wireless access point and the one or more interfering wireless nodes by: (i) modeling communicative relationships and properties among the wireless access points and the one or more interfering wireless nodes exhibiting electromagnetic interference upon the wireless access point based at least in part on the data collected, and (ii) modeling an active state of the wireless access points representing a current configuration of the wireless access points having therein one or more configurable parameters for the wireless access points based at least in part on the data collected; and quantifying a change in performance of the wireless access points or the one or more interfering wireless nodes based on a state change affecting the model. Other related embodiments are disclosed.

    Abstract: The transmit power level of a transceiver coupled to a digital subscriber line (DSL) line is reduced from a first transmit power level sufficient for the transceiver to continuously transmit data on the DSL line at a first bit rate to a second transmit power level below the first transmit power level sufficient for the transceiver to continuously transmit data on the DSL line at a second bit rate that is lower than the first bit rate. The reduction in transmit power is limited so that the change does not induce time-varying crosstalk sufficient to destabilize a nearby DSL line. While the transmit power level of the transceiver is reduced to the second transmit power level, the transceiver is suspended from transmitting data on the DSL line for repeated periods of time. Suspending the data transmission is controlled to avoid further time-varying crosstalk sufficient to destabilize the nearby DSL line.

    Abstract: In accordance with embodiments disclosed herein, there are provided apparatus, systems and methods for implementing DSL line fault determination and localization via SELT, DELT, and MELT diagnostics. For example, such a system or computer implemented method may include means for: receiving Metallic Loop/Line Testing (MELT) test output from applying a MELT test to a DSL line; receiving Dual-End Line Testing (DELT) test output from applying a DELT test to the DSL line; receiving Single-Ended Loop Testing (SELT) test output from applying a SELT test to the DSL line; determining one or more faults are present on the DSL line by comparing the MELT test output, the DELT test output, and the SELT test output; and localizing the one or more determined faults by comparing the MELT test output, the DELT test output, and the SELT test output.     Abstract: In accordance with embodiments disclosed herein, an exemplary system or computer implemented method for implementing Persistent Management Agent (PMA) functions for the control and coordination of DPU and DSLAM components may include, for example: a memory to store instructions for execution; one or more processors to execute the instructions; a virtualized module operating on virtualized computing infrastructure, in which the virtualized module is to provide a virtualized implementation of a plurality of functions associated with one or more remotely located Distribution Point Units (DPUs) and/or Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexers (DSLAMs), each of the one or more remotely located DPUs and/or DSLAMs having a plurality of broadband lines coupled thereto; in which the virtualized module is to further control Persistent Management Agent (PMA) functions and control coordination of the one or more remotely located DPUs and/or DSLAMs and the plurality of broadband lines coupled with the one or more remotely located DPUs and/or DSLAMs by virtualizing one or more functions of the one or more remotely located DPUs and/or DSLAMs to operate on the virtualized computing infrastructure; and a network interface to receive data and send control instructions for operation of the plurality of broadband lines to and from the one or more remotely located DPUs and/or DSLAMs. Other related embodiments are disclosed.
