By monitoring the power level of the laser beam, for example monitoring the power level of the reflected beam, it can be determined that alignment has been achieved when the power level of the laser beam has been reduced to a minimum level. The power level can be automatically monitored, thereby eliminating the need for user interpretation.

Boundary conditions are imposed on various faces of the components of the local domain. Fluid flow is simulated through the local domain for a plurality of time steps until the local domain is completely flooded. A fine scale solution of saturation and flow rate of individual fluid phases across the coarse grid interface is recorded at each time step. A pseudo-function is constructed by post-processing results of the simulation of fluid flow. The fine scale geologic model is upscaled to a coarse scale geologic model using the pseudo-function.

During the electrophoresis step, electric current moves proteins through the gel allowing for protein separation. Then, without removing or reorienting the gel or apparatus, the electrical contacts are switched to allow the flow of electricity to run perpendicularly through the gel via the conductive polymers, which will allow the proteins to transfer to the membrane housed in the same precast gel and membrane combination unit. The apparatus allows the user to visualize the steps of protein separation and protein transfer without transferring the gel between electrophoresis and transfer steps.

The addition of salt reduces the time to test the oxidation resistance of the alloy and the addition of the salt mimics the degradation of the alloy in a real working environment in a gas turbine engine.

The composition is capable of reacting via condensation reaction to form a thermally conductive product. A method for regeneration of a cellulose containing material, comprises the steps: a) exposing the cellulose containing material to oxygen with an alkali aqueous solution at a pH of at least 9, and a temperature of at least 20° C., b) dispersing the cellulose containing material in the alkali aqueous solution, wherein the temperature of the alkali aqueous solution is lowered below 15° C., and wherein the pH of the alkali aqueous solution is above 9, c) adding an organic solvent to the dispersion to precipitate cellulose, and d) separating the precipitated cellulose by at least one method selected from filtering and centrifugation. The method makes it possible to maintain a high alkali pH value in the process, which saves costs since the pH value does not have to be lowered by additions of various additives. The method makes it possible to remove non-cellulose parts of the cloth.
