An aircraft fuel contaminant tester has an upper transparent chamber for viewing a first sample of aviation fuel, a lower chamber, a fuel cell drain valve actuating device for loading the upper transparent chamber. A thumb actuated valve halts flow of fuel from the upper chamber into the lower chamber until actuated by the pilot after viewing contaminated fuel in the upper transparent chamber. The larger lower chamber permits several samples of fuel to be repeatedly drained from the fuel tank and examined merely by manually actuating the valve without the undesired discarding of any fuel. When the fuel in the last batch of sampled fuel, viewed in the upper chamber, is free of contaminants, the inspection process ends and the tester is inverted, draining the sampled fuel from both chambers, usually at one time only, to eliminate the repeated discarding of the fuel from the commonly used sampler cup.

Described herein is apparel that protects a wearer from an undesirable agent. The apparel employs a transition portal to assist doffing and to reduce the risk of cross-contamination during doffing. The transition portal attaches to the apparel proximate to one end of an aperture, which provides an exit for the protective apparel. When doffing, the transition portal extends away from the person, who exits the aperture. The transition portal is then pulled over the body along with any attached portions of the protective apparel. This turns the transition portal—and attached parts of the apparel—inside-out. After doffing, most portions of protective apparel are either a) inside-out, or b) contained within the inside-out transition portal and/or apparel. As a result, undesirable agents—that were initially on the outside of the apparel—are now inside the inside-out transition portal and apparel. In one embodiment, the transition portal is carried internal to the apparel so that surfaces of the portal are not exposed to the external environment and undesirable agent. After doffing, the transition portal may also be used as a large ‘garbage bag’ into which the apparel is placed for disposal.

The decorative fabric pieces of the decorative ensemble are attached to the outer layer only at certain points or areas so that at least a portion of the additional pieces are loosely positioned over the outer layer to accentuate the three-dimensional appearance of the necktie. In some embodiments, the decorative fabric pieces are attached to the outer layer by border stitching around an entire perimeter of the decorative fabric pieces, leaving the remainder loosely positioned over the outer layer. Trim pieces may include lace, string, hardware or other non-fabric items which are attached to the outer layer and which can be positioned over the decorative fabric pieces on the outer layer.
