Abstract:
The present invention helps to develop a smaller sized portable terminal without reducing the functions available for the user. A USB device which is detachable from the portable terminal is provided with a USB connector which is inserted into a USB port of the portable terminal, a power source terminal which comes into contact with a power supply terminal of the portable terminal, when the USB connector is inserted into the USB port of the portable terminal, and a screw which is engaged with a screw hole of the portable terminal. When the screw is engaged with the screw hole of the portable terminal, a switch inside the screw hole is pushed down due to a contact with the screw. The portable terminal detects mounting of the USB device by an output from the switch, and initiates power supplying from the power supply terminal of the portable terminal to the power source terminal of the USB device. The USB device is started up by this power, and establishes connection with the portable terminal via the USB connector.

When a plurality of items of data are sequentially read and reproduced from a data storing means which stores the data, data suited to a user's mood at the moment or a situation is selected to be reproduced without needing any complex operation. A data reproducing apparatus for sequentially reading and reproducing a plurality of items of data from a data storing unit (104) which stores the data includes: a reproduction history storing unit (202) that stores reproduction history including identification information of data at least a part of which has been reproduced; an identification information reading unit (204) that reads the identification information of some or all of the data from the reproduction history storing unit (202); a reproduction characteristic information generating unit (208) that generates, based on the characteristic information of data identified by the read identification information, reproduction characteristic information regarding a predetermined situation; and a reproducing order setting unit (212) that sets a data reproducing order based on the reproduction characteristic information and characteristic information of a part or all of the data stored in the data storing unit (104).

An instruction decoder identifies, for each instruction, an operational block involved in the execution of the instruction and an associated heat release coefficient. The instruction decoder stores identified information in a heat release coefficient profile. An instruction scheduler schedules the instructions in accordance with the dependence of the instructions on data. A heat release frequency adder cumulatively adds the heat release coefficient to the heat release frequency of the operational block held in the operational block heat release frequency register as the execution of the scheduled instructions proceeds. A heat release frequency subtractor subtracts from the heat release frequency of the operational blocks in the operational block heat release frequency register in accordance with heat discharge that occurs with time. A hot spot detector detects an operational block with its heat release frequency, held in the operational block heat release frequency register, exceeding a predetermined threshold value as a hot spot. The instruction scheduler delays the execution of the instruction involving for its execution the operational block identified as a hot spot.

A content distribution system includes a content distribution server and a portable game terminal. The content distribution server 4-0-retains a first license for comprehensively permitting the use of multiple digital contents and issues to the portable game terminal a second license for individually permitting the use of a digital content selected by a user from among the multiple digital contents. The portable game terminal retains the second license and permits the use of the selected digital content if it is within the license period of the second license at the time.

The present invention is to provide a heat sink withheat pipe, which is limited in height, not so noisy, compact and highly efficient in radiation, and can lower the temperature inside a casing as a whole more effectively even when it is used in an electronic appliance limited in height such as a personal computer, a game machine or the like.A heat sink with centrifugal fan of the present invention, comprising: a cover of a given shape, which has an air intake and an air outlet; a heat receiving block, which is thermally connected to a heat generating body to be cooled; a heat conductive bottom, which is thermally connected at one surface to the heat receiving block, and is engaged with the cover to form a space; a radiation fin part, which is thermally connected to the bottom, has a given shape having at least an air inflow portion, and comprises a plurality of fin parts housed in the space; a centrifugal fan, which has a rotation axis positioned in a neighborhood of the air inflow portion of the radiation fin part, takes in air from the air intake, generates an air flow toward gap portions formed between adjacent fins of the radiation fin part, and generates an air flow along an inner wall of the cover toward the outlet; and heat transfer members, which are arranged such that resistance of the air flow generated toward a side of the radiation fin part becomes smaller, and are inserted through the plurality of fin parts to transfer heat from the bottom.
