The method including obtaining a video sequence of the access control point; detecting an object of interest from the video sequence; tracking the object from the video sequence to obtain tracked-object data; classifying the object to obtain classified-object data; determining that the object is a vehicle based on the classified-object data; and determining that the vehicle is present in a predetermined detection zone based on the tracked-object data.

Various implementations may enable either public or private (e.g., internal to an organization) crowdsourcing of multimedia item gathering and analysis, including the gathering, analysis, lead-searching, and classification of digital still images and digital videos. Various implementations may allow a user, such as a law enforcement investigator, to consolidate all of the available multimedia items into one system, and quickly gather, sort, organize, and display the multimedia items based on location, time, content, or other parameters. Moreover, an investigator may be able to create crowd source tasks as he works with the multimedia items and utilize crowd source resources when he needs help.

Abstract: A method for segmenting video data into foreground and background portions utilizes statistical modeling of the pixels. A statistical model of the background is built for each pixel, and each pixel in an incoming video frame is compared with the background statistical model for that pixel. Pixels are determined to be foreground or background based on the comparisons. The method for segmenting video data may be further incorporated into a method for implementing an intelligent video surveillance system. The method for segmenting video data may be implemented in hardware.

An inference engine performs video analysis based on the one or more rules provided by the rules engine and the one or more gross change primitives.
