Abstract: The non-linear program planner, preparation, and delivery system performs multiplatform planning and scheduling across multiple content delivery platforms. The system coordinates planning to deliver high-quality video content in a very efficient and scalable manner. The system includes automated avails and other processes that increases the accuracy of the information provided to distribution partners. The system checks on content rights and incorporates metadata structures that facilitate delivery of content to a wide range of distribution channels. The invention increases accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of content delivered to partners and allows providers to generate revenue from online (non-linear) platforms and over the top (OTT) video services.

Abstract: The non-linear content scheduling and encoding (recording) system provides a highly automated file-based video-on-demand (VOD) publishing workflow. The system includes content-provider scheduling and broadcast programming for encoding, editing, and distribution of video assets (e.g., episodes). The invention effectively scales VOD production and allows broadcasters to use the same schedule and sources as their traditional playout operation to quickly and efficiently produce VOD deliverables with all the correct metadata. The systems of the invention process content at significantly faster rates than traditional, real-time VOD generation. The systems provide program management and incorporate traffic system ad components within fully integrated VOD publishing. The systems enable automatic retrieval of sources for VOD generation from generic storage, video servers, non-linear editing systems, archiving systems, content delivery systems, data or video tapes, as well as from live video sources.

Abstract: A central asset registry and associated satellite registries tie Digital Asset Management (DAM) repositories and satellite repositories into a unified enterprise system. The system removes rights and asset relationship tracking from the DAMs and the satellites by gathering asset metadata tags and capturing digital asset rights and relationships between assets to improve speed, scalability, and flexibility in analyzing and traversing networks of rights and relationships of digital assets. The central asset registry and the satellite registries use a pluggable architecture and track and store multi-dimensional relationships as an asset hierarchy. The asset hierarchy and rights model depicts rights and relationship data between the assets and provides a flexible array of asset types and properties for addition of new assets, new asset types, and new rights without re-factoring the other data, nodes, and edges. The system uses asset metadata to create edge relationships between the assets. The combination of the satellite registries and the central asset registry facilitates queries and retrieval of the media assets.

Abstract: The cloud hybrid application storage management system spans local data center and cloud-based storage and provides a unified view of content and administration throughout an enterprise. The system manages synchronization of storage locations, ensuring that files are replicated, uniquely identified, and protected against corruption. The system ingests digital media assets and creates instances of the assets with their own identification and rights and houses the identification and relationships in a CAR (Central Asset Registry). The system tracks the different instances of the assets in multiple storage locations using the CAR, which is a central asset registry that ties together disparate digital asset management repository systems (DAMs) and cloud-based storage archives in which the instances reside. While the invention treats and manages multiple files/instances independently, the CAR identifies them as related to each other.

Abstract: Methods and systems for managing the playback of media content via a website accessed by a user computer are described. According to aspects, the methods and systems may access and retrieve various data associated with media content such as website context data, content data of the media content itself, and engagement data related to an interaction by a user with the media content playback. The methods and systems may analyze any combination of the data to identify a relevant media file that may be of interest to the user and provide the media file to the user computer for playback by the user. The analysis models may be continuously updated and used to improve media selection and streamline partnerships with third-party entities.

Abstract: Methods and systems for managing the playback of media content via a website accessed by a user computer are described. According to aspects, the methods and systems may access and retrieve various data associated with media content such as engagement data related to an interaction by a user with the media content playback, as well as social media data relating to playback of a set of media content by a set of additional users. The methods and systems may analyze any combination of the data to identify a relevant media file that may be of interest to the user and provide the media file to the user computer for playback by the user. The analysis models may be continuously updated and used to improve media selection and streamline partnerships with third-party entities.

Abstract: The invention includes systems and methods for receiving, curating, and distributing audio, video, and image assets and other files. The systems automatically receive and simultaneously process the assets for distribution and consumption in many formats. In one example, the invention distributes prepared and curated media assets (media clips) via social media outlets for subsequent consumption. The invention includes compression and other formatting techniques to manage different sized video segments and image files. The system creates a pipeline for the creation of video clips, conversion of video clips to multiple usable formats, delivery of the video clips to social media account managers, and notification to the social media managers of the availability of the clips. The system distributes usable content (video clips) via social media outlets and functions as a branding asset, traffic attractor, and a revenue generator through advertising and other sources.
