For example, a technique for treating one or more diseases of altered IgE regulation in a patient includes the step of administering a therapeutically effective amount of one or more sophorolipids to the patient in a manner which decreases IgE production in the patient. Further, the technique for treating one or more diseases of altered IgE regulation may include administering a therapeutically effective amount of one or more sophorolipids intravenously, intramuscularly, as an inhalant, subcutaneously, topically and/or systemically.
