The barb is free to rotate while the attachment piece remains stationary. The rotatable fish hook may comprise: a shank and a bend connected to the shank at a first end and the shank connected to the barb at a second end. The rotation mechanism is configured to rotationally isolate the shank, the bend and the barb from the attachment piece. The shank, the bend and the barb are free to rotate while the attachment piece remains stationary.
