An electrically and/or magnetically conducting measurement object is in electromagnetic interaction with the coil arrangement. The distance measuring sensor further has an evaluation circuit for evaluating and ascertaining a position of the measurement object. In addition to the measuring coils, the noncontact distance measuring sensor includes an additional coil which is arranged along the common axis, is coupled to the evaluation circuit, and at least partly overlaps at least one of the two measuring coils.
