The network comprises a first node, a second node and a third node, wherein the first node is connectable to the second node and the second node is connectable to the first node and to the third node and the third node is connectable to the second node. A system function is realized by the execution of a master-process implemented in the first node and a slave-process implemented in the third node, wherein the execution of the master-process realizes a control function associated with the system function. The master-process of the first node is adapted to temporarily delegate the responsibility to realize the control function to a master-proxy-process implemented in the second node and the master-proxy-process implemented in the second node is adapted to take over the responsibility to realize the control function from the master-process of the first node.
