The information processing apparatus includes a recording unit to record transfer information indicating that the license data is transferred from the information processing apparatus to a second information processing apparatus, and a prohibition unit to prohibit use in the information processing apparatus of the license data corresponding to the transfer information when the transfer information indicates that the license data has been transferred from the information processing apparatus to the second information processing apparatus.
