The reading unit generates an image by reading multiple original documents. The designation unit designates a reading condition with respect to a portion of the original documents in a case of reading. The storage unit stores the reading condition, corresponding to the portion received by the designation unit, as reading condition information. The reading control unit reads the reading condition information stored in the storage unit and controls the reading unit based on the reading condition information read.
