The electrode has an aluminum current collector, an aluminum hydroxide layer provided on the aluminum current collector, and an active material layer containing lithium-containing metal oxide and provided on the aluminum hydroxide layer. The thickness of the aluminum hydroxide layer is not more than 50 nm.
