Further, the liquid crystal display device provides an opposing electrode on the internal side of the one substrate. Then, the liquid crystal display device provides vertical alignment films on the respective internal sides of the pair of substrates, and a liquid crystal layer having negative dielectric anisotropy and inserted in the gap between the pair of substrates.
