Each unit circuit includes a drive transistor generating a driving current, an electro-optical element displaying a gray scale, a capacitive element having first and second electrodes, an electric supply line, which extends in a direction so as not to intersect the scan line, connected to the second electrode in an initialization period other than the writing period, a first switching element connecting the gate and drain of the drive transistor during at least the initialization period, and a second switching element controlling an electrical connection between the data line and the first electrode based on the scan signal.
