Abstract:
The modulator according to the invention is based on the modulation of a PLL, with the bandwidth of the PLL being variable. The modulator also has a means (14, 15) for determination of a signal (φr(kTs); FDEV) which is characteristic of the modulation shift of the modulated signal. Furthermore, the modulator contains a comparison means (16) for comparison of this signal with a signal (φ(kTs+τ); FDEVNOM) which is characteristic of the nominal modulation shift, as well as a means (18) for variation of the bandwidth as a function of the output signal from the comparison means (16).
