The apparatus and control method utilize a first tuner and a second tuner, including tuning a first channel using the first tuner; determining the presence of a synchronous signal in a first broadcast signal of the first channel tuned through the first tuner; retuning the first channel using the second tuner; and determining the presence of a right turning point in a second broadcast signal of the first channel retuned through the second tuner.
