The image processing apparatus includes a reception unit configured to receive predetermined information corresponding to the user, by transmitting authentication information for the user to log into a chat service, to the chat server, and a storage unit configured to store the predetermined information received by the reception unit, instead of the authentication information, in association with identification information for the user to log into the image processing apparatus. The image data, information indicating the specified talk room, and the predetermined information are transmitted to the chat server.
