A method includes providing a Thing Description file for an Internet of Things, IoT, device, the Thing Description file including information describing a resource provided by the IoT device, mapping the Thing Description file to a Resource Directory registration command, and transmitting the Resource Directory registration command to a Resource Directory to register the resource in the Resource Directory.
