The interface display method comprises steps of: during processing an interface display request of an application program, determining whether the interface display request meets a preset condition or not (101); if the interface display request meets the preset condition, acquiring at least one fingerprint acquisition area according to the interface display request (102); displaying an interface according to the interface display request (103), and activating a fingerprint recognition sensor corresponding to the at least one fingerprint acquisition area (104); and if the interface display request does not meet the preset condition, displaying the interface according to the interface display request, and controlling the fingerprint recognition sensor of the electronic device to be in an inactive state (105). The method reduces the power consumption of the electronic device, and prolongs the service life of the electronic device.
