The method includes determining a size of available storage space in a first storage area in a terminal equipment; comparing the size of the available storage space in the first storage area to a first threshold; determining that the size of the available storage space in the first storage area is less than the first threshold; in response to determining that the size of the available storage space in the first storage area is less than the first threshold, determining whether data stored in the first storage area meet a preset condition; determining that the data stored in the first storage area meet the preset condition; and transferring the data that meet the preset condition to a second storage area, wherein the second storage area is different from the first storage area.
