For switching a communication mode based on the preference of the communication recipient, methods, apparatus, and systems are disclosed. Here, the processor determines that a user is initiating communication with a recipient via a first communication channel and receives a communication channel preference of the recipient. Additionally, the processor prompts the user to switch to a second communication channel in response to the first communication channel not matching the communication channel preference.
