A reverse path reverses the printing sheet of which the first surface is printed by the printing unit, and a control unit controls conveyance of a preceding sheet and a succeeding sheet, making a leading edge of the succeeding sheet overlap the preceding sheet reversed by the reverse path, and controls the conveyance of the preceding sheet and the succeeding sheet such that the succeeding sheet is conveyed to the printing unit in a state in which the succeeding sheet overlaps the preceding sheet.
